What I finished Friday

It has been a while since I have had any finished projects to share.  No quilts, but I think I will be getting to work on one soon. I guess I finished the middle dress last week but oh well, sharing cuteness never gets old.

My kids have been annoyingly begging to go to the pool. So yesterday, we made a trip out and I got them some swimming aids since neither of them know how to swim.  Now I feel obligated to take them to the pool and teach them to swim.  The almost 4 year old can get around pretty well as long as she has something to hold her up. The 6 year old, well he is like a rock and needs a lot of help, so hopefully I can remember and the kids listen to the basics of how to swim.  I'm cheap and really don't want to pay $50/kid for swimming lessons.

W.I. F.F. What I finished Friday

I finally finished up my Dresden plate quilt this week.  I can't believe that it was a WIP for over a year, well maybe I can believe it I've had a love hate relationship with it for a while.  The weather here hasn't been cooperative so here are the best pictures that I have.

My first time drawing a patter on and attempting to stitch on the line, not too bad for a first time.

I love how the back looks.

 Sideways full shot, but you can't really see the quilting. The outside boarders I ended up doing a random free motion. and I did nothing to the dark purple boarders.

And because I had 1 Dresden plate that was quite a bit smaller than the rest, I made it into a small pillow cover.

Other randome things I have made this week include...

A baby bow tie.

A little muslin under skirt.

Last but not least, I still need to quilt this but I have the top and back done.

And on that note I think I will spend the weekend relaxing or conjuring up my next project.

What I finished Friday

I only have one small finish this week.

I finished up the mini quilt. It measures a whopping 16"x20". I did straight line quilting 'in the round?' on it, basically I started on the outside and went around and around on it.

I really like this and think it would look good on one of the small walls in my sewing room, but I also owe a few people a little home-made something, so I'm going to gift it,  I haven't decided to whom yet, so it can stay a surprise.

In the finishing department, I did get the backing sewn together for the 2 memory quilts I am doing.  I hope to crank them out this weekend if my machine will cooperate with me.  I had a few words with it yesterday and it finally started doing what I wanted it to.
